These terms apply when you use the Quizling app or website. By using Quizling you agree to them. If you downloaded Quizling from the App Store, Apple's standard licence agreement also applies. Questions: hello@quizling.co.uk.

1. Quizling

Quizling is a pub quiz game played on one phone: one person reads the questions out, and the app keeps score. You can play without a profile. Some features need a free profile, and some need Quizling Gold.

2. Your profile

• You must be 13 or over to create a profile.
• Keep your sign-in secure. You're responsible for what's done with your profile.
• Your @handle and display name mustn't be offensive, impersonate someone, or break the law. We may change or remove ones that do.
• You can delete your profile at any time in Profile › Delete profile.

3. Quizling Gold

• Gold is an auto-renewing monthly subscription. The price is shown in the app before you buy.
• Payment is taken by Apple or Google when you confirm. Gold renews every month unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date.
• Cancel or manage Gold in your App Store or Google Play account settings. Cancelling stops the next renewal; Gold lasts until the end of the period you've paid for.
• Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies.
• Gold includes the full archive of packs and a monthly allowance of AI quizzes. We may change what Gold includes, and will tell you before a change that reduces it.
• We sometimes give Gold for free (for example to testers or partners). Free Gold can be ended at any time.

4. Packs and venue codes

Some packs can be bought individually through the App Store or Google Play. Codes from pubs and venues unlock their packs for a limited time, as shown in the app.

5. Quizzes you make

• AI-written quizzes are generated automatically and may contain mistakes. Check anything important.
• Don't use Quizling to make or share anything hateful, sexual, violent, harassing, or about private individuals. We screen themes and shared quizzes, and may remove quizzes or suspend profiles that break these rules.
• When you share a quiz, you let anyone with its code or link play it and see your @handle as its maker, until you stop sharing it.

6. Show on phones and linked players

When you show a quiz on phones, anyone with the code can see the current question and whose turn it is. Only link players who've agreed to it; they can unlink at any time.

7. Our content

Quizling's questions, packs, design and name belong to us. You may use them to play Quizling, including at pub or community quiz nights, but not copy or resell them.

8. Availability and liability

We work hard to keep Quizling running and accurate, but it's provided as it is, and we can't promise it will always be available or error-free. As far as the law allows, we're not liable for losses that weren't foreseeable or that come from how you use the app. Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights as a consumer or our liability for anything the law doesn't allow us to exclude.

9. Ending your use

You can stop using Quizling and delete your profile at any time. We may suspend or close a profile that breaks these terms.

10. Changes and the law

We may update these terms and will change the date at the top when we do; if a change matters, we'll tell you in the app. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales can hear any dispute (unless you live elsewhere in the UK and your local courts apply).
